Acceptable Use

Every kit other than the Kids Sewing Learning Kit (E-06) is intended for use by adults aged 14 and over. The kits contain sharp needles, dressmaker pins, scissors and (in some cases) seam rippers.

Children under 14 must not use adult-grade kits. The Kids Sewing Learning Kit is designed for ages 6 and over and must be used under direct adult supervision. The included wool darning needles are sharp and must be handled only by an adult; only the plastic safety needles are appropriate for unsupervised child use, and even then only on the supplied stiff canvas frames.

Choking hazard. Every kit contains small parts (needles, pins, buttons, beads) which are a choking hazard. Keep all kit contents away from children under 3 years. Do not allow children under 3 in the room when small components are out of their packaging.

• Use the pincushion or case provided to store sharp tools between sessions. Never leave a threaded needle on a sofa, bed, carpet or floor.
• Count needles at the start and end of each session.
• Keep scissors closed when not in your hand.
• Wash hands before and after sashiko and visible mending — dye transfer is rare but possible.

You may use the motifs included in our kits and PDF tutorials for personal craft enjoyment. You may give finished pieces as gifts.

You may not:

• Modify our kits to embroider or stitch licensed characters, logos or trademarked imagery (Disney, Pixar, Pokemon, sports team logos, etc.) — this is your responsibility, not ours.
• Sell finished works using our copyrighted patterns commercially without a written licence from us — see our Content Licence page for commercial-use terms.

You agree not to:

• Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the site.
• Scrape, harvest or otherwise systematically extract content.
• Use automated tools to place orders, sign up to the newsletter, or otherwise interact with checkout.
• Disrupt the service or attempt denial-of-service attacks.
• Use the site to send unsolicited commercial messages.

We reserve the right to block IP addresses that violate these terms.
